Every tester video that BetaTesting transcribes comes with a downloadable transcript, so you can search it, quote it in a report, or share it with people who will never open the platform. You can take the transcript exactly as it was transcribed, or an AI-polished version with punctuation, capitalization, and sentence breaks corrected. Both arrive as plain text files.
This is the quickest way to pull a tester's exact words into a research summary, feed a full session into your own analysis tools, or hand a readable record to a stakeholder who only needs the words. The polished version is the one to choose when the transcript is going in front of other people, because raw speech-to-text output runs together without punctuation and is hard to read.
All plans include basic AI features, and Subscription and Enterprise plans add advanced AI features and customizations, so the AI-polished option may not be available on your account.
How to download a transcript
Open a tester video from your test results to reach its video analysis page.
In the panel beside the video, select the Transcript tab. On a narrow screen, expand Transcript & Tester Profile below the video player instead.
Click the download icon above the transcript text. Its tooltip reads Download transcript.
Choose Raw transcript for the exact speech-to-text output, or AI-polished transcript for the same words with punctuation, capitalization, and sentence breaks corrected.
Things to know
Include timestamps sits at the top of the download menu and controls whether each paragraph starts with its time in the video. It is on by default and applies to both download options.
The AI polish never adds, removes, or changes a single word. It only fixes punctuation, capitalization, and sentence breaks, and any paragraph it cannot clean up safely is kept exactly as it was transcribed.
The first AI-polished transcript download for a video takes a moment while the cleaned version is prepared. Every later download of that video's polished transcript is immediate, because the cleaned text is kept.
Files are named after the tester and the download date, for example "Transcript - Jordan S (2026-07-27).txt". The polished version carries its own marker, "Transcript (AI-polished) - Jordan S (2026-07-27).txt", so the two never overwrite each other in your downloads folder.
The download icon only appears once the video has been transcribed. If you do not see it, the transcript is not ready yet.
